Skills it can help build
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
01
Emotional regulation by helping children to increase their tolerance for the more intense emotions and feedback coming through the body, with the skills and ability to then return the body to a state of calm
02
By engaging in the activities offered in the Sensory Play Cards, children practice reining their motor skills. They'll manipulate materials through squeezing, moulding and picking up small objects
03
Gross motor skills are encouraged through the inclusion of the slip and slide and sprinkler mat in the sensory activities, providing the opportunity to improve strength, endurance, agility, coordination and spatial awareness
04
Sensory Regulation by helping children explore how different sensory stimuli make them feel. They’re encouraged to consider how sensory factors impact their wellbeing and explore their own sensory preferences

WHO THE PROGRAM IS FOR
Does this sound familiar?
"I want to create fun & playful sensory experiences for my child but the thought of doing the shopping for all of it and making the stuff is overwhelming."
"Understanding my child’s sensory preferences is challenging. I find it hard to identify which sensory activities they enjoy and which ones overwhelm them."
"I want them to grow up recognising how different feelings show up in their body so they can look after themself when I'm not there."
If these challenges sound familiar, you are not alone. It’s exactly why we’ve designed this program.
ABOUT THE VIDEO TRAINING
What the program covers
This program aims to help children identify their sensory preferences, and how these sensory inputs can reduce feelings of overwhelm and contribute to improved regulation, body awareness and participation in daily activities.
To self-regulate, we need to tap into skills such as attention, working memory, problem-solving and emotional awareness – all skills which can be targeted through sensory play. When children are able to efficiently process sensory information from their surroundings, they are better equipped to respond in times of stress.
The tools and strategies that are included with the program stimulate a range of different senses, so children can really experiment with a wide range of regulation practices. With both calming and exciting activities, they can experience different states of nervous system regulation and activation.
The program is particularly targeted towards children with sensory processing differences, children with fine or gross motor difficulties and/or children requiring support with emotional regulation.
This program invites children to take the lead in exploring their sensory needs and preferences. It also supports them to share those discoveries with their families and caregivers so they can be well supported in a variety of settings.
We know that regulation is absolutely critical to learning, to wellbeing, to focusing and for returning to calm. And so it follows that helping children regulate is one of the most powerful ways we can support our children, and set them up for success.
