Skills it can help build
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
01
Daily living skills by introducing consistent bedtime routines, children are encouraged to manage their time and follow sequences of tasks, such as brushing teeth, reading a book, and getting into bed. These skills can set the foundation for independence in daily activities
02
Emotional regulation by introducing a calming bedtime routine that incorporates sensory tools, such as soft lighting or soothing sounds, children are supported to feel relaxed and secure as they prepare for sleep
03
Independence can be improved as children become more familiar with their bedtime routine and take more responsibility in managing their own sleep. This independence can transfer to other areas of life, encouraging them to take initiative and make choices that support their well-being
04
Executive function by supporting children to plan and organise their bedtime routines, they are developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. As they learn to follow a schedule, they can gain a sense of responsibility and improve their ability to focus on tasks

ABOUT THE VIDEO TRAINING
What the program covers
Does your child struggle to fall asleep or get enough sleep? Do you want to create a consistent bedtime routine but haven’t had much luck so far? Want to increase your child’s sense of security and safety, and decrease their dependence on you when they are going to sleep?
We know that navigating bedtime routines and sleep challenges can be tricky. While occasional disruptions in sleep patterns are to be expected, persistent sleep difficulties can impact a child’s health, emotional wellbeing and cognitive functioning. Recognising and supporting these challenges is important to promote optimal sleep for your child, supporting them to be at their best both during the day and at night.
Our Sleep Program aims to empower you with the tools, knowledge, and support you need to help your child establish healthy sleep habits.
The program has been designed by our experienced Senior OT and mother of four children, Kait. In addition to developing detailed education and real-world strategies, Kait has carefully curated the items in this programs’ toolbox. In fact, many of the items have been created and developed by Kait and the Therapy at Home team, to ensure they offer the highest therapeutic value.
During this program, you will be guided through the role of sleep in supporting brain development and overall wellbeing, while also learning about the common challenges across different age groups. Clear guidelines based on the best available evidence are provided to help you understand optimal sleep requirements by age, as well as guidance to support you to identify what could be disrupting your child’s sleep patterns.
