ABOUT THE VIDEO TRAINING
What the program covers
Our Ready for School Program focuses on building functional skills for learning from the inside out. Within each module, there are four different levels of play-based activities and games that children can engage with. They can build confidence and independence before moving on and developing their skills further. The focus is on keeping it fun so that children are motivated to keep practising and making progress with these skills.
Although handwriting is a fundamental aspect of a child’s learning journey, being ‘ready for school’ actually encompasses a much broader range of skills that need to be developed prior to even picking up a pencil.
Gross motor skills are required to support the development of core strength, which is essential for assisting children in remaining seated and upright during table top tasks. Children will require language skills to express themselves at school and develop strategies for emotional regulation that can be honed over time.
Finally, hand and shoulder strength will be targeted as a foundation for supporting the fine motor skills required to engage in activities such as cutting and handwriting. This program provides a fun, engaging and practical way of building a well-rounded set of ready for school skills.
If your child has already started school, this program can still provide many positive benefits for supporting them in this journey, particularly if they require further support in any of these areas of skill development.
