Creative Mindfulness: Mandalas Program
The Creative Mindfulness: Mandalas Program has been specially designed by our occupational therapists to guide children through a series of hands-on projects for exploring, creating, designing and making a variety of mandalas on a range of mediums.
As children engage with the creative activities, they will have opportunities to build and develop their fine motor skills, executive functioning skills, creativity and self-confidence. To accompany these activities, there are guided mindfulness moments to further encourage and promote relaxation, reflection, present moment awareness and self-regulation.

This program helps children to let their creativity shine, while also encouraging the development of communication, planning and organisational skills.

What the program covers
Through the guided videos and step-by-step instruction cards, children will first explore the creative techniques used to design mandalas. This understanding will then be applied to draw guided mandalas, paint mandalas and construct 3D mandalas using a range of tools and mediums. The culminating activity involves making and painting a coil clay pot to showcase the skills developed throughout the program.
The creative activities are all accompanied by a guided mindfulness moment to encourage and promote relaxation and reflection. These are offered as opportunities to cultivate present moment awareness and develop tools for self-regulation.
