Put markers around the court. Work on movement and agility by performing footwork drills. Move quickly around the court, by shuffling side-to-side, doing short sprints, running backwards or changing direction quickly at each marker.

Pickle Volleyball

Instead of using a pickleball and bats, use a balloon or beach ball to play a game of volleyball or keepy-uppy. Players must stop the ball from touching the ground and no player can return the ball twice in a row.

Obstacle Course

Create a mini obstacle course beside the pickleball court using soft toys or markers that players can run around, or jump over. During a game of pickleball, the player that loses a point must complete the course before play continues.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT

Why we love it

Pickleball is a dynamic and fast-paced sport, which combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. To us, it’s a valuable tool for practical, playful
and positive skill development.

It encourages the development of motor skills, hand-eye coordination, cooperation, perseverance and resilience via play.

Pickleball is a versatile activity that can be played individually or with friends and family. While it’s great to play by the traditional pickleball rules, there are lots of ways to adapt the original game to suit varying skill levels, ages and abilities.

SKILLS IT CAN HELP WITH

1.svg

Motor Skills

Pickleball has the capacity to improve motor skills such as physical strength, endurance, balance, motor planning and sequencing, and bilateral coordination.

2.svg

Hand-eye coordination

Pickleball offers children of varying abilities repeated opportunities to practise and refine hand–eye coordination skills during serving, hitting and volleying.

Perseverance + resilience

The game’s fast pace requires focus and persistence, even when things aren’t going your way. Kids can learn from mistakes, adjust and improve their skills.
