Ask a Therapist about your child
Want to be able to message a therapist and get some guidance when you're stuck or unsure what to try next?
The Play Way's Ask a Therapist is now available.
Tell us what's going on, what you've already tried, and where you feel stuck. Our therapy team read, watch or listen to what you've described, consider what they would try next, why, and recommend any relevant resources from our Hub that might help, and reply to you within one business day.

Frequently asked questions
What do I get when I buy a digital resource?
A digital file. After you buy, we email you the resource, and you print it at home. The card sets print as cards you cut out, and the journals and workbooks print as pages a child writes on.
Can I print these at home?
Yes. They are made to be printed on a home printer. The card sets hold up better on thicker paper or card if you have some, and the journals and workbooks print fine on ordinary paper.
Are there printables for occupational therapy at home?
Some of them. Our therapy team developed these, so the body awareness journals, the movement and core strength cards, the handwriting workbook and the breathing cards all come from the same people who create our play kits. They are not ‘therapy’ in themselves, but they are resources that our team of therapists use in clinic and schools, that you can now use at home also. If your child is waiting for an appointment, or you’re looking to do some extra things at home between appointments, they are something you can access and use when it suits you.
What age are these for?
They are chosen by what a child is working on rather than by how old they are. A six-year-old and a ten-year-old can both need the body awareness journal, and those same two children can need very different handwriting practice. So start from what you are working on as a skill that needs some extra practice.
Which of these help with sounds, words and talking?
The CVC Cards are 50 word cards with a picture on one side and the word on the other, for blending and breaking up sounds. The Multisyllabic Cards are over 90 picture cards and word lists sorted by how many syllables each word has. The Verb Cards are 41 photos with the word underneath, for building sentences. The Imagination Cards are story starters, for a child who has words but needs a reason to use and practise them.
